About Pat Gane                

Pat’s career has encompassed professional performance (piano and viola) and a specialism in secondary music education, instrumental teaching and learning. For many years she was a senior lecturer in Music Education at Middlesex University and a major contributor to Ofsted Inspection programmes of Post Graduate University teacher training and Instrumental Music Services in the UK and abroad. She led a team developing post-graduate music provision at University Pertanian, Malaysia.

Director of Music at Benenden School, Kent from 1997-2000, her publications include Making Music, a series of projects for groups of young players (Oxford University Press). She became a Trustee and Chair of TMC in July 2018 and in addition runs an annual music festival Les Balades Musicales in southern France, inspired by a wish to enrich the experience of talented young European musicians.
